Johnny’s letter 2 abby

Dear Abby,

Until just a few days ago I was one of the most popular boys in my house, but suddenly a life changing incidence happened and I lost everything. Well, I was working on my steel project just when the melted steel started pouring out of the cracked crucible. I didn’t know the crucible was cracked until I felt the boiling steel on my bare hands. But it was too late. My hand was already crumpled up and burned. We called a nearby mid-wife for help but she couldn’t do much. Since that day on my hand has been this way. It’s totally deformed and now useless. I don’t know what to do. I can’t even work as a silversmith anymore. My life has taken an unexpected turn. I see no future. Please give me some advice. I’m in desperate need of your help.

   Dear Johnny,

I understand your feelings but you need to realize that life moves on. Don’t forget that there are so many other people in this world who have disabilities. There lives are moving on, yours will to. Just because you can’t be a silversmith anymore doesn’t mean that you can’t become something else. I’m sure there’s something else you can do. And if you believe in yourself then nothing can stop you from reaching the peaks of success.

The Boston Tea Party

Posted in Uncategorized on October 28, 2007 by mariam93

The British have been extremely cruel to us colonists. They put so many unwanted taxes on us. Moreover they passed the tea act, making situations worse than they already were. We all strongly believed that this act needed to be stopped mainly because this way the British were gaining too much control over the tea trade. This was clearly not fair to us colonists. Situations got worse when 2 ships arrived in Boston harbor in November. This frustrated me and my friends. We demanded that the ships leave the harbor but this did not happen. This angered us even more and so we decided to retaliate. On the night of December 16 we disguised as American Indians and snuck in the tea-filled ships. Together we dumped 342 tea chests into Boston harbor. I still remember how the British made no attempt to resist us. This made the whole task much easier. However as a result of our revenge the parliament passed the intolerable acts. I still believe that whatever we did was 100 percent correct. Those cruel British deserved every bit of it.
